It’s Parade Time

Who doesn’t love attending a Christmas parade when on vacation? Many families who come to Folly Beach during the month of December love to go watch our Christmas Parade. When you stay in Sea 2 you will be able to walk to get your spot to see the parade. This year it will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at 1:00 pm. Here you and your family can come watch Santa head down the street and enjoy some fun. During the parade, if you’d like to do a little shopping for those gifts, then head over to the Community Center. At the Community Center, you will be able to grab some handmade gifts at the Arts & Crafts show. And just in case your kids want to visit with Santa or as we know him as “Sandy” Claus in Folly Beach, you can by heading over to Folly River Park after the parade. Every year from now until January 1st, you and your family can head over to the James Island County Park to view the Holiday Festival of Lights. This year is the 29th year it has been bringing families magical memories and this year is no different. There is an admission of $20 per vehicle and if you visit Monday through Thursday you can donate a canned food item or pet food and will only pay $15. How amazing is that deal because the donation will go to help the Lowcountry Food Bank. This event is more than a tour in your car, it’s a way to explore the island. You and your family can park the car and go check out several different things such as a visit with Santa, see the dancing trees to the beat of Trans-Siberian Orchestra and more. Visit the gift shop or get some tasty treats at Santa’s Treats & Blitzen’s Burgers. There are so much more things that you can enjoy while you visit so this can’t be missed.

A Tradition Continues

This year, The Nutcracker seems to be popular because of the movie that has recently come out. But instead of seeing the movie, make it a tradition to come see the 25th Anniversary of the Charleston Ballet Theatre “The Nutcracker.” Many locals love to take their families to see the Charleston Ballet’s performance as this holiday favorite is performed. The show can be seen on December 10th at 7:30 pm and December 11th at 3:00 pm at the Galliard Auditorium. If you miss those two showings, you’re in suck because they will return on Dec. 16th at 7:30 pm and December 17th at 3:00 pm at the North Charleston Performing Arts Center. You can purchase your tickets today and make this a new tradition when you visit during the holiday season.

While this isn’t an event, we thought that you and your family would enjoy the beach a little this year while you vacation in Folly Beach. It’s nice to get away from it all and this could be an event in itself. Heading to the beach to watch for dolphins or to let the kids play in the sand can be an adventure. Thinking of heading to Folly Beach during Christmas this year, we do have several homes still available. If you have a large family then staying in Martiniville will be the perfect home for you. It can sleep up to 10 people and is the perfect home for everyone to spend the holiday in. Another few homes that might work for your family would be G.O.S. Getaway, Boogie Down and Back Bay #1. All of these homes are close to where you are right on the oceanfront or it’s a small walk to the beach. You and your family can sit on the beach and enjoy the waves rolling in and out. Watch the beautiful sunsets, collect seashells or go for a run. The possibilities are endless when you visit Folly Beach this time of the year!

While there are many other events happening in the Folly Beach or surrounding areas, we thought these might help making your decision a little easier. This year we at Folly’s Best Rentals would like for you and your family to experience visiting us during the holiday season. We know that you will have a blast and we hope to see you soon.
