It's a Great Time to Visit Folly Beach!

Can you believe it's already September? While summer mayofficially be winding down, the fall months are an ideal time to visit FollyBeach.

We survived hurricane Dorian!

First thing's first; we know you've all heard about Hurricane Dorian on the news. We are very pleased to report that we had only relatively minor damage on the island, and everything was back to business as usual just one day after the storm. Nearly all of our properties fared fantastically, and are ready for you to come and enjoy! All local restaurants, shops, bars, and services are also open and back in full swing too.

Fall is still beach season on Folly

So now, let's get back to planning your autumn escape. Here in the Lowcountry, we are lucky to enjoy warm temperatures through September, October, and oftentimes into November too. Not only can you soak up the rays and work on your tan, you can still comfortably take a dip or catch a wave in the ocean too as water temps do not begin to drastically drop until winter. Fall conditions are also ideal for activities on top of the water, such as kayaking, sailing, fishing, and paddleboarding.

Now we'll talk about the crowds, or rather, the lackthereof. With school back in session, the island returns to a mellower versionof its summer self. Take advantage of laid-back vibes, lots of space to set upand sprawl out on the beach, great deals via off-season discounts, less carsand more bicycles (the preferred method of transportation for Folly locals), andno waiting in line at your favorite dinner spot.

While the fall temperatures remain high, the humidity takes a hike. This makes for the perfect time to explore historic downtown Charleston, just a quick 15-minute drive away from Folly Beach. It's also an ideal time to venture out to the area plantations and stroll through their stunning gardens. While the summer heat can be oppressive once you're away from the sea breeze, the autumn months are a delightful time to walk around the streets of the peninsula and other area attractions that are off of the beach.

Finally, the start of the off-season means the end of ourstandard minimum-stay requirements. You can now book short-stays of only 2nights or more for any days of the week and at any our properties.*
